#Mumbai – The Boston Butt is city’s first smokery and charcuterie that will serve comfort diner food from USA’s southern states | The Urban Vibe
We just reported about a new all day bar called Hitchki looming up at Kala Ghoda and now another new BBQ focused entrant in the same vicinity called The Boston Butt is slated to open this week.
The Boston Butt is new concept grew from the epiphany that men change inexplicably around a barbecue and its cooking techniques said the chef and restaurateur Siddharth Kashyap, who is along with Nishant Rao and Meghana Shinde getting the new BBQ entrant at Kala Ghoda.
It is a smokery, charcuterie and a bar which splits over two levels-seating for 75 people. One level will be dedicated to family diners. Launching this Wednesday 24th in Kala Ghoda near Rhythm House (floor below Irish house). First of its kind with pre prohibition era cocktails. The vibe of the restaurant is said to have influences from Texas and New Orleans’ French Quarters (such as the bevelled window panes), Southern diners (a plaid corner couch) and typical smokery elements such as Prohibition era signboards. A tractor front, painted red, becomes the DJ’s console for the upper section of the eatery, which will be cultivated as the livelier section with its bar; there are plans to host live jazz bands later on.
Something you should know –
What is Charcuterie—it’s a culinary specialty that originally referred to the creation of pork products such as salami, sausages, and prosciutto—is true food craftsmanship.
Inspired by all things vintage, their cocktails too date back to the 1880’s from the U.S. pre-prohibition era, so expect the Ward 8, which is a cocktail from Boston, with whisky, grenadine, orange juice, bourbon, and the Currey-Scented B***h, a racial slur used infamously against Zayn Malik, now a cocktail here.
Do not forget to share a skillet cookie, a hug chocolate chip cookie baked on a skillet. Vegetarians don’t worry they have lots in store for you too! The Boston Butt opens this Wednesday, Aug 24. Btw, It is located a floor below Irish House.
