Papparoti finally opened Mumbai at Kamala Mills with all the buns | The Urban Vibe
The wait is finally over: The Mother Of Buns is here!
Papparoti, the Malaysian coffee and bun chain well known and recognized for its freshly-baked, buttery buns just made its debut in Mumbai on Saturday, February 18 in Kamala Mills and ever since then people have been crowding at the outlet for late-night coffee, buns and fun …
Mumbai’s Kamala Mill’s outlet will be Papparoti’s third outpost in the country (after winning hearts in Hyderabad and New Delhi). Papparoti is the latest address you need to bookmark if comfort food or for a late night dessert yearnings is what you’re looking for. Their fluffy signature buns—crisp on the outside but soft on the inside—make perfect accompaniments to coffee.
Those with a sweet tooth, will have options such as dark chocolate, Nutella, honey, strawberry with whipped cream, dates, Oreo and more to choose from. We recommend trying the ‘Lotus Biscuit’ coffee bun made with crushed Belgian biscuits—a new addition to their menu. Great with a side of foamy cappuccino or the Pappa special milk tea
A lil about Papparoti
PappaRoti is a very popular cafe franchise that started in Malaysia. First opened in 2003, they currently have more than 400 cafes world-wide, including London, Dubai, Singapore and in many locations in Australia. And now Vancouver can experience “the father of all” buns.
The cafe concept centres around the PappaRoti bun. It’s not complex, but I have to say, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had before. The bun is a simple pastry: light and airy, a bit like angel food cake, with a crispy outer dome that cracks a little when you break into it. The top layer comes from a coffee caramel that is piped onto each bun before they are baked in the oven. They also pack a delicious, warm, buttery surprise in their heart.
Buns are baked to order, so they arrive at your table warm and satisfying. You can enjoy them plain, or with different sides: maple syrup and ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream, or bananas and nutella. They aren’t super sweet, but if you like things on the savoury side, try them with Labna, a thick, salted yogurt with the consistency of cream cheese.
